Zero Gravity Design worked directly with Flat Baker’s founders on the feasibility, architectural layout and interior design concept for their bakery café in Ancoats, Manchester. The project translated the bakery’s personality into a space for takeaway customers and people choosing to stay and eat.

The brief brought brand expression together with the practical demands of service. Display, ordering, collection, preparation and seating needed to work within the same plan. Clear zoning connects these activities, with attention to the relationship between customer areas and the working bakery.

Natural timber, warm lighting and softer forms give the café a welcoming character. Colourful graphics and illustrative details carry Flat Baker’s identity into the interior, creating a setting rooted in the brand and its independent Manchester context.
