WHO WE ARE
Zero Gravity Design is a commercial interior design, architecture and fit-out studio. Founded in 2022, we work from Manchester and London on projects across the UK.
Design-led. Contractor-informed.
We bring a clear creative point of view and a practical understanding of how spaces are delivered. Budget, buildability and the way a business operates shape our thinking from the start.
Our work spans RIBA Stages 1–4, with optional Stage 5 delivery support. We develop the drawings, specifications and details contractors need to price and build the scheme, with FF&E and delivery coordination tailored to the appointment.
Typical projects range from £500k–£10m+ in construction value and 2,000–50,000 sq ft.

Workplace
Workplaces that give people a reason to come together. Through test fits and space planning, we balance focused work, collaboration and the everyday needs of the team.
Hospitality
Bars, restaurants and hotels with a reason to stay. We consider how seating, lighting, acoustics and service flow shape the experience, support dwell time and create opportunities to spend.
Retail
Physical stores that make the brand tangible. We plan the customer journey from first impression to purchase, bringing product, movement and experience into one clear design.
Landlord & Asset Enhancement
CAT A, CAT A+ and building repositioning for landlords, asset managers and developers. We focus investment on tenant appeal, flexible use and a specification suited to the letting strategy.

We make the important decisions early, then carry them through the design. Each stage gives you a clearer picture of the space, the investment and what happens next.

Feasibility and test fit
We establish what the building can support. Test fits, space plans and a clear view of the constraints help you assess the opportunity before committing to a direction.

Concept design
We develop the central idea, spatial strategy and material direction around your brief, budget and commercial goals. You can see how the space will feel and understand why the design works.

Developed design
We resolve layouts, materials, lighting, joinery and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E). Visualisation gives everyone a shared view of the scheme before key decisions are signed off.

Technical design
We turn the agreed scheme into detailed drawings and specifications for contractor pricing and construction. Clear information reduces ambiguity and helps protect the design through procurement.

FF&E & delivery support
We design, specify and procure furniture, fixtures and equipment, with delivery coordination and site support through to handover where appointed. We help carry the agreed design into the finished space.

Ashley founded Zero Gravity Design in 2022 after 15 years designing and delivering commercial interiors across the UK.
Working in both design studios and contractor teams shaped his approach: be ambitious with the idea and understand what it takes to deliver it. That experience sits behind ZGD’s design-led, contractor-informed thinking.
Ashley stays close to the work, leading client relationships, creative direction and design strategy across every project. He challenges the brief, asks where the investment will make a difference and keeps the design focused on what the client needs to achieve.
THE DESIGN COLLECTIVE
We build the team around the project. Our core team leads every commission, supported by a network of interior designers, technical designers, architects and 3D visualisers selected for the work ahead.
A padel clubhouse and a Grade A office floorplate ask different questions. We bring in the expertise each needs, with senior involvement and a clear ZGD lead throughout. You work directly with the people shaping the design and resolving the detail.
HOW WE WORK WITH TECHNOLOGY
We use SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape and the Adobe Suite alongside AI-assisted concept generation and immersive presentation tools.
These tools let us explore ideas, test options and show you the space before it exists. Digital visualisation supports practical decisions about the physical environment, with the people who will use it at the centre of the process.
