The Lookers workplace in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, was designed around a post-pandemic return to the office. Ashley Salmon, now founder of Zero Gravity Design, was the interior designer, before establishing ZGD. The project brought teams together from other sites into a collaborative, technology-enabled hub.

The brief combined consolidation with a renewed purpose for time spent in the workplace. The design needed to accommodate colleagues coming from different locations and make it easier for them to communicate, share ideas and work together in person.

Settings for team discussion are connected with places for individual activity, allowing people to move between focused tasks, planned meetings and informal conversations. Technology was considered as part of the office experience, supporting communication with colleagues elsewhere as well as those working within the hub.
