Mills & Reeve’s 15,000 sq ft office at Circle Square, Manchester, brought around 100 colleagues onto one floor. Ashley Salmon, now founder of Zero Gravity Design, was the lead creative interior designer before establishing ZGD.

The brief was to express the firm’s culture and its connection with technology and creative businesses. A café and kitchen form a social centre, with shared tables, booths and soft seating offering places for informal meetings, discussion and everyday interaction.

Quieter settings include individual work areas and meeting rooms of different sizes, alongside a larger training and conference suite. The plan connects formal and informal activity within one floor, giving colleagues and clients different places to meet while accommodating concentrated work.
