The Modern Georgian: classical proportions, contemporary living
The Modern Georgian is Zero Gravity Design’s architecture and interior design concept for a 5,000 sq ft private residence in Greater Manchester. The proposal brings Georgian-inspired proportions together with connected living spaces, developing the external composition and the interior as one design vision.
The ambition was to give the home the presence of classical architecture while accommodating contemporary daily life. A glass-link hallway connects the principal spaces, with openings, proportions and room relationships shaping the experience of moving through the residence.
Timber, stone and textured plaster establish a natural palette, supported by crafted joinery and warm metal details. Formal geometry is balanced with softer furnishings and carefully considered lighting. A consistent approach to materials connects the rooms while allowing each setting its own character.

The Modern Georgian presents a residential vision in which architecture and interiors are developed together from the outset. The character of the home comes from their relationship: proportion, light, materials and the way its spaces connect.
